An intelligence major was killed along with an enlisted man following a clash with suspected Maute Group members in Marawi City Thursday afternoon.
The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. at Barangay Lilod Madaya, of the above-mentioned city, said 1st Infantry Division spokesperson Lt.Col. Benedicto Manquiquis.
He identified the fatalities as Major Jerico P. Mangalus and Cpl.Bryan Libot.

Manquiquis said the quickly retreating bandits sustained an undetermined number of casualties.
