Russia offers training for security forces protecting President Duterte

Russia President Vladimir Putin’s top security adviser Secretary of the Security Council Nikolay P. Patrushev has offered to train security forces assigned to protect President Rodrigo Duterte, Reuters said in a report.

Patrushev was in Davao City for a three-day meeting with his counterpart National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, and other officials of the Philippines National Security Council Secretariat.

The bilateral talks between two security council secretariats tackled government-to-government cooperation in the fields of security and intel, defense and military, law enforcement, terrorism and transnational crime, anti-illegal drugs, and maritime law enforcement.

The 3-day event in Davao City was capped with a dinner with President Duterte at the Marco Polo Hotel, February 16.
