The newly created Counter Intelligence Taks Force (CITF) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has arrested two police officers during an entrapment operation against alleged robbery extortion activities in Malate, Manila, the Philippine National Police said.
The entrapment operation was conducted along Quirino Avenue corner Mother Ignacia St., Malate, Manila that resulted in the arrest of SPO1 Rodito P. Magluyan and PO3 Rowel M. Candelario, CITF commander Senior Supirentendent Chiquito Malayo said.
The arrest was made after a police poseur driver handed-over the P250.00 marked money allegedly demanded by the two policemen.
At least 70 members of CITF are from Special Action Force (SAF).
Assistant City Prosecutor Reynaldo P. Tomas Jr. of Manila City Prosecutor’s Office recommends the filing of information for the crime of Robbery Extortion against both accused subject to the approval of the Chief, Inquest Prosecutor.
Arrested suspects are presently detained at CITF headquarters in Camp Crame while waiting for the resolution of the case.
