‘To forgive the terrorists is up to God, but to send them to him is up to me’: Who said this?

November 20, 2015 by Joel Dizon

A quote allegedly stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin is now making rounds online. A news anchor who tweeted the statement, Remi Maalouf said she took it from a post on Facebook and it turned out to be false. “To forgive the terrorists is up to God, but to send them to him is up to me,” the Russian President allegedly said.

“This is the danger of social media! I took Putin’s quote from a post on Facebook & it turned out to be false. I apologize,” Maalouf said and deleted her earlier tweet.

Though the quote was not really from Putin, many believe it is in the character of the Russian leader to say it anytime.

Meanwhile, during Putin’s meeting, November 17, on Russia’s Armed Forces actions in Syria, missile cruiser Moskva Captain First Rank Oleg Krivorog was ordered to make coordination with French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in the Mediterranean.

“A French naval group will soon approach your area, headed by an aircraft carrier. You need to establish direct contact with them and work together as allies,” Putin told Krivorog.

“The General Chief of Staff and the Defence Minister have already received appropriate instructions. You will have to develop a joint plan of action with them both in the air and at sea,” Puttin added.
