MTV Asia announced on Tuesday that pop star princess Sarah Geronimo and phenomenal love team JaDine (James Reid, Nadine Lustre) will join the international pop band OneRepublic at the MTV Music Evolution 2016.

Set on June 24 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) concert grounds, MTV Music Evolution will gather the brightest international and local stars in one stage for a one-night only music event.

Attendees can expect a live music event that will bring to life the evolution of music genre, enabling the younger generation to experience and discover how music styles and sounds have evolved as time passed by.

Last April 12, MTV said that OneRepublic, the group behind the hits “Counting Stars,” “Secrets,, “Apologize,” among others, will join this year’s lineup of performers.

Other Iconic and contemporary international music acts and some of the hottest local artists who will join the lineup will be revealed soon.

“We are thrilled to have the Philippines’ pop star royalty Sarah Geronimo, and Filipino pop star darlings James Reid and Nadine Lustre join us for MTV Music Evolution 2016. These stellar performers personify the sound of local pop music which we are looking forward to celebrate on the MTV stage,” said Paras Sharma, senior vice President of MTV, Comedy Central & Paramount Brands and Digital Media, Asia, Viacom International Media Networks.

MTV Music Evolution was first held in Manila last year.

About 22,000 concert-goers trooped to Quirino Grandstand in Manila to witness the event’s first edition. The event won the Best Entertainment (One-off/Annual) Award at the Asian Television Awards 2015.

Last year, Filipino artists Abra, Gloc-9, Filipino-born American rapper Apl.De.Ap., and foreign artists Naughty by Nature, YG, DJ Cash Money and DJ Mustard performed at the MTV Music Evolution co-sponsored by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines.

Meanwhile, MTV Music Evolution tickets/passes are not for sale. Tickets/passes can be won via contests starting April 26.

Just answer a question posted at www.mtvmusicevo.com to get a chance to win passes. Online contest will end on June 12.

MTV Asia said fans can also have a chance to win a trip to Manila to experience MTV Music Evolution 2016 live. This raffle draw is open to residents from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

MTV Music Evolution will be witnessed not just by concert-goers in Manila, but also by people from around the globe. The event will be recorded live for global telecast for MTV World Stage global series, enabling the international community from over 160 countries to also enjoy the concert.
