Authorities offered a reward amounting to PHP100,000 for any information that may lead to the arrest of Vhon Tanto, a Philippine Army reservist tagged as the suspect in a road rage shooting incident in Quiapo, Manila on Monday night, the Manila Police District (MPD) said on Thursday.
Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada offered a PHP100,000 reward for Tanto’s immediate arrest.
Senior Supt. Joel Coronel, acting director of Manila Police District (MPD) described Tanto as “extremely dangerous”, stressing that they ready to use force to capture Tanto, dead or alive.
Still, Coronel appealed to Tanto to turn himself in and explain his side properly.
Coronel said the manhunt order was made after the deadline it has imposed for Tanto’s surrender lapsed at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Tanto, an Army reservist with the rank of private is now at large after shooting dead Mark Vincent Garalde in P. Casal, Quiapo following a heated spat and brawl on Monday night.
Geralde allegedly came into blows with Tanto after the latter’s car, a red Hyundai Eon, accidentally bumped the victim’s bicycle.
On Thursday morning, the said vehicle was found at the house of his brother-in-law in Nueva Vizcaya.
The MPD chief said the suspect is now facing raps for murder and frustrated murder.
