Operatives from the Aritao Police Station recovered Thursday the car of the Philippine Army reservist tagged as the suspect in a road rage shooting incident in Quiapo, Manila.
Police Chief Inspector Joberman A. Videz, town police chief, said his men recovered the vehicle, a red Hyundai Eon owned by Vhon Tanto with plate number MO 3745 at around 5:00 a.m. Thursday in Purok 3 Brgy. Kirang of this town.
Based on records, a certain Carlos C. Rada Jr., a resident of Taguig City, is the owner of the vehicle.
However, Tanto acquired it from Rada through a memorandum of agreement dated June 1.
Investigation results disclosed that the suspect left the car, which was used as a get-away vehicle at the house of his brother in-law identified as Jonathan Leano y Palayon, 39, a discharged member of the Philippine Marines and a resident at Puron 3, Kirang Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya,
Leano said Tanto informed him of his plan to go to Bataan on Wednesday.
However, the suspect asked Leano to take him to the Florida Bus terminal in Brgy. Banganan, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya. Tanto then boarded a Florida bus going to Sampaloc, Manila.
The car was brought to Aritao Police Station for proper disposition prior to its turn-over to the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Tanto, an Army reservist with the rank of private is now at large after shooting dead Mark Vincent Garalde in P. Casal, Quiapo, Manila following a heated spat and brawl on Monday night.
