Popular mobile game is in search for a Filipino hero

February 28, 2017 by Joel Dizon

Mobile Legends: Bang bang, a 5on5 Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) mobile game with over 10 million users from Android and iOS, has launched a survey to choose its newest hero – a Filipino hero. This is in recognition for Filipino gamers’ support for the mobile app, according to the developer.

Among the choices in the survey are: Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Aguinaldo, Emilio Jacinto, Gabriela Silang, General Luna, Gregorio del Pilar, Jose Rizal, Lapu Lapu, Marcelo H del Pilar, and Sultan Kudarat. Filipino gamers can also suggest a Filipino historical figure who was not listed.

In a MOBA game, the objective is to destroy the opposing team’s main structure with help from spawned computer-controlled units. Player characters, known as heroes, have various abilities and advantages that improve over the course of a game and that contribute to a team’s overall strategy.
