Turkey warned Thursday that it would freeze assets of anyone who sponsors nuclear or ballistic missile programs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
Relevant Turkish institutions will be forbidden of allocating any funds, financial assets or economic resources for such individuals or companies in Turkey, reads a statement published on the Official Gazette.
Meanwhile, any person or family member with links to such DPRK programs will not be allowed to pass through or enter Turkey.
According to the statement, all kinds of purchase, sale and transfer of goods, materials, equipment and technology, specified by the United Nations (UN) Security Council and its supervisory committee that could be used to develop DPRK’s missile programs, will be prohibited.
Any cargo from or to the DPRK may be inspected in accordance with national and international law, including at ports and airports, the statement said.
The UN on Monday urged DPRK to fully comply with its international obligations following the latter’s test of a new type of high-thrust rocket engine over the weekend. (PNA/Xinhua)
