President Rodrigo Duterte said ‘essential measure’ is needed to restore public order and ensure safety of Filipinos in Mindanao. He added as this happens, the people should be vigilant.
“As fellow Mindanaoans, I ask for your continued vigilance as we express essential measures for the safety of our people and for the restoration of public order in communities affected by terrorism,” President Duterte said during the 50th founding anniversary of the Agusan del Norte province held at the University of Cabadbaran on June 17.
He said the fight in Marawi is an ongoing battle of every citizen who wants prosperity.
“I also ask you for your unceasing participation in our fight against all forms of corruption, criminality and all,” he said.
“Together, we will work relentlessly in overcoming these obstacles on our way to become a more inclusive and progressive society,” he added.
