President Rodrigo Duterte is urging Communist Party of the Philippines founding chairman Jose Maria Sison to come back to the Philippines and lead the armed rebellion against the government.
“If you are truly a revolutionary leader, my God, come home and fight here,” Duterte said in an interview during his visit to the wake of six police officers killed in an ambush by NPA terrorists in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
“All these years, nandoon ka sa ibang lugar, nagpapagasto ka ng ibang gobyerno, pinapakain ka, anak ng. Tapos ‘yung mga tao mo dito, kawawang mga NPA, nangamatay na lang mga byuda na,” he said. “Si Sison, inyong leader, talawan. Duwag.”
“Umuwi ka dito, dito ka mag-istambay and do not question my absence. It’s only God, pareho dito sa mga ano. May destiny tayong lahat na sinusunod. Pagka panahon mo na, panahon mo na,” the President said reacting to Sison questioning his public absence.
He added that NPA leaders have big allowances. “Ang mga kawawa, ‘yung naniwala sa iyo lalo na ‘yung mga Lumad.”
He then urged NPA members to surrender. “Dito kayo mga NPA, just surrender to your barangay captain. Your barangay captain will accompany you to any of the police, military. Bigyan ko kayo ng trabaho. Ako automatic, I will – gawain kitang sundalo.”
