Philippine defense contractor and firearms manufacturer United Defense Manufacturing Corporation (UDMC) delivered assault rifles for the Presidential Security Group (PSG).
UDMC delivered F5-Direct Gas Impingement System (DGIS) Caliber 5.56 x 45mm NATO after winning the bidding for PSG Security Operations Weapons System Lot 2a acquisition project.
According to UDMC website, F5 is a variant of M4 which is fully automatic for military, police and law enforcement use.
MaxDefense Philippines said 145 units worth PHP11.57 million were delivered.
“These rifles will be equipped with a Reflex Sight to be acquired under the Lot 2b of the same project,” MaxDefense added.
PSG is the lead agency tasked with providing security to the President of the Philippines, the Vice President of the Philippines, and their immediate families.
