Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar shown in his official social networking page the planned Binondo-Intramuros Bridge, one of the two bridges to be funded and built by China.
The other bridge China is financing is the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge connecting Makati City and Mandaluyong City. Both bridges are crossing Pasig River.
The 807-meter Binondo-Intramuros Bridge will be constructed into a four-lane, Steel Bowstring Arch Bridge with inclined arches that will connect Intramuros side at Solana Street and Riverside Drive to Binondo side at San Fernando Street with a viaduct.
It costs around PHP4.61 billion.
It wil be composed of 90-meter main bridge, 488-meter Binondo approach, and 193-meter upramp and 166-meter downramp Intramuros Approaches.
The government is aiming to build 12 bridges that are crossing Pasig River.
