Communist Party of the Philippines and New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) hing ranking officials Aurora Cayon and Louie Antonio Martinez alias Louie Castro were arrested by government security forces on October 19 in Barangay Dulao in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives in Negros Occidental with elements of 16th Intelligence and Security Unit of Philippine Army, 17th ISU AIR (P), and 303rd Infantry Brigade served the Warrant of Arrests to the two CPP-NPA officials.

CIDG said Martinez is the National Military Staff, N4 Logistics, General Command of CPP-NPA. He was arrested for murder and multiple attempted murder.
Meanwhile, Cayon was arrested for robbery with violence or intimidation of person and arson. She is a staff member of the National Finance Commission (NFC) of CPP-NPA.
CIDG said Cayon held several high positions in the CPP-NPA such as member Execom and head finance both of Komiteng Mindanao, 2nd Deputy Secretary of Southern Mindanao Regional Committee and 2nd Deputy Secretary of North Eastern Mindanao.
Additional case for violation of RA 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law and RA 9516 or Illegal Possession of Explosives were filed against the two after a caliber .45 pistol, a hand grenade, magazines, and ammunition were confiscated from their possession during the arrest.
