The Philippine Navy sent-off BRP Andres Bonifacio (FF17) on September 30 at Pier 13, South Harbor Manila for a port visit to Brunei and naval exercise with the Malaysian navy. BRP Andres Bonifacio is the third Del Pilar-class Frigate of the Philippines.
FF17 will be participating in the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah beginning on October 4 in Brunei Darussalam.
“The activity is part of the various confidence building initiatives undertaken by the Philippine Navy with their Bruniean counterparts,” the Philippine Navy said.

She will then proceed to Malaysia for the Maritime Training Activity (MTA) Malaysia-Philippines (MALPHI) LAUT 20-17 which will take place October 16 to 25.
“MTA MALPHI LAUT is an annual bilateral exercise between PN and RMN that aims to enhance interoperability, working relationship and camaraderie through the conduct of coordinated maritime patrol training focusing on common maritime threats and other illegal maritime activities in both countries,” the Philippine Navy said.
