President Rodrigo Duterte today, October 25 personally witnessed the turnover of Russian defense equipment to the Department of National Defense (DND).
Included in the donation were 5,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles, one-million rounds of ammunition, 20 military trucks, and 5,000 steel helmets.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, and Armed Forces of the Philippine chief-of-staff General Eduardo Año were also present during the transfer of equipment conducted at Pier 15 in Manila where President Duterte also visited Russian anti-submarine destroyer Admiral Panteleyev.
