Miss Earth Philippines Karen Ibasco was crowned as Miss Earth 2017 during the coronation night held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on November 4.
This is the 17th edition of Miss Earth pageant. This edition has a theme: Heroines Fighting Climate Change.
Miss Earth is among the so-called big four international beauty pageants which also include Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss International.
Miss Earth Australia Nina Robertson was declared as Miss Earth – Air 2017. Robertson has some Filipino blood. Her mother was born in Nueva Ecija and grew up in Mandaluyong City.
Russian delegate Lada Akimova was declared as Miss Earth – Fire 2017. Miss Earth Colombia Juliana Franco got the Miss Earth – Water 2017 title.
Elemental queens Air, Water, and Fire all have equal importance and have the same ranking.
