The Russian Federation Ministry of Defense (MOD) said that on October 31, Velikiy Novgorod diesel-electric submarine has launched Kalibr cruise missiles from the Mediterranean Sea to ISIS targets in Syria.
The Russian MOD said that targets included group of terrorists, several command posts and a large weapons depot of ISIS in Abu Kamal city part of Deir ez-Zor Governorate in eastern Syria.
It added that all targets were destroyed.

Velikiy Novgorod is a part of Russian Black Sea Fleet. She was commissioned October 2016 and is among the latest submarines in from the 636.3 Project.
