Philippine National Police (PNP) Deputy Chief for Administration Police Deputy Director General Ramon Apolinario led the turn over of new high-powered firearms to police units in the Bicol Region on December 2.
Among the turned over firearms are Norinco CQ-A caliber 5.56mm rifles and Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Tavor X95 submachine guns (SMG).
“PDDG Apolinario led the ceremonial turn over of CQ-A Rifle Caliber 5.56 MM and SMG Tavor X95 to Naga CPS, Camarine Norte PPO and Camarines Sur PPO to enhance their police capabilities,” the PNP said.
Aploinario also awarded personnel of Naga City Police Office, Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) for their efforts and performance contributed in PNP Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign.
PNP said Aploinario also visited the wake of PO1 Pedro Valeros of the Provincial Mobile Force Company, Camarines Norte PPO who was killed during an encounter with communist terrorists at Sitio Binuang, Labo Camarines Norte to pay respect and honor his gallantry and heroism.
“He also met the wounded members of the Provincial Mobile Force Company and awarded them the “Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting”,” PNP said.
